Techstack
Techstack

The full stack, not just the top layer.

Most tools touch one or two layers. We touch them all.

The architecture at a glance.

From real hardware in the lab to production deployment in the field. See how the pieces fit together before we break down each layer in more detail.

EdgeLab architecture overview — Services, Orchestration, Operating System, Edge Hardware

Four layers: one platform that manages them all

Most platforms specialise in one or two of these layers and leave you to handle the rest.

We own the whole stack, from the bare-metal silicon to workload. Every layer is built and tested to work with the one above and below it, not stitched together after the fact. When you're piecing tools together from different vendors, the space between layers turns into guesswork: who manages this, will it actually integrate, who can support when something breaks.

Owning all four layers means we've already answered those questions, so you don't have to.

Services & Workloads

The models and applications running on top: a benchmark run, a live session, a production workload. Every one of them inherits GitOps-managed security policy and infrastructure-as-code by default.

Lab & Devices

This isn't just a diagram. It's running.

Our edge device cluster lives in imec's Leuven headquarters, with all necessary security policies in place. Every layer you just read about is deployed on real hardware, and improving each day.

From lab, to field, to you.

We're extending EdgeLab beyond the lab.

The goal: onboard edge nodes deployed in the field and on other organisations' premises as their own tenant clusters, all managed through the same GitOps pipelines, under the same control plane as the Leuven lab.

That opens the door to use EdgeLab for more custom edge setups than a single lab can hold: different compute, different sensor modalities, different environments. Built to scale beyond our own infrastructure… perhaps one day onto yours.

Ready to test?

EdgeLab is currently in beta and available to a limited group of partners as we refine the platform. Tell us about your workload or hardware questions, and we'll get back to you within a few business days.
